Tàgot Se (/təg/ /ot/ [reward; award; medal] [poor; weak]) is a subtropical Town located in Castlemerrow Dutchy, Tarnàg Provence, within the Dalandic Empire.

The name Tàgot Se is derived from the Tauric language, as Tàgot Se was founded by Brgfèj Fluell, who was culturaly Tauric.

Climate

Tàgot Se has a yearly average temperature of 28°C (82°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a hot 32°C (89°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a pleasant 25°C (77°F). Tàgot Se receives an average of 251 cm/y (98 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the summer. Tàgot Se covers an area of nearly 5 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 3624 m (11889 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Tàgot Se was founded durring the early 15th century in spring of the year 1433, by Brgfèj Fluell. The establishment of Tàgot Se was plagued by a lack of willing colonists. After attempts to pay people to resettle failed Brgfèj Fluell struck deals with nearby nations and communities to establish Tàgot Se as a prison colony.

Tàgot Se was built using the conventions of Tauric durring the early 15th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Tàgot Se is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature delicute timber framework hidden behind layer upon layer of finly ground plaster bleached to an almost glossy white sheen, with green clay tiled roofs and decorative brass-leafed trim. Even the smallest, poorest looking structures appear to be expencive thanks to the extreem elegence of the organic shapes and paterns going into their lofty, spire-y, vagly gothic designs. The more well off folks live in identicle homes, save for even shiner trim and a more whimsical appearance to their structures flowing forms.

Tàgot Se is is constructed arround a series of spacious packed earth mainstreets which form overlapping circles, with smaller strait roads linking the circiles to eachother at varrious points. The town has a defencive wall made from querried stone. The wall is equipped with a full set of battlments but the nature of its construction methodology leaves it somewhat vulnerable to siege equipment. That said, the town is well defended against anything short of an army. Astonishigly, the cost-cutting-focused defences are in pristine condishion, as if they had just been finished before you laied eyes upon them.

A look around Tàgot Se has something terribly wrong with it. It’s impossible to put one’s finger on, but something is horribly wrong. Maybe it’s the way fog blankets the ground, but only in the connors of places. Maybe it’s the vermin scuttling between shadows in the corner of your eyes. Perhaps it’s the overcast sky which seemed to creep out of nowhere, or the distant howling of wolves. Maybe it’s all of those things together, or perhaps it's the way these elements combine which makes you worry someone might stab you in a dark ally for your boots. It’s not filthy, or dark, but the smiles seem strained, the locals seem to glare daggers in eachothers backs a little too much, and everyone is armed at all times. You may want to keep an eye on your valuables, and make sure you don’t wind up in any position of power. Regardless, you do not feel it would be wise to remain in Tàgot Se long.

Civic Infrastructure

Tàgot Se possesses a city-wide Aethary Link which provides Aethary access anywhere within its metropolitan. This allows citizens who can afford the relevant devices access in their places of work, and rarely homes.

Tàgot Se has a Highwayman's Guild, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.

Tàgot Se has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Tàgot Se's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.

Tàgot Se possesses a Galvanic Power Grid, which brings galvanic current to most if not all buildings in town, and permits a great many consumer goods to function within the Town. Tàgot Se's grid is powered by hydrogalvanic generators.

Tàgot Se possesses an older civil lighting system consisting of street lamps. In spite of the Galvanic Grid, these lights continue to use their old fule sources to provide nighttime illumination to all city streets.

Tàgot Se has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands.

Tàgot Se has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Cultural Notes

Tàgot Se's chapel was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is characterized by vertical proportions, pointed arches, external buttressing, and asymmetry in the general shape of its buildings. The decorative features of the style were key, consisting of large arched windows, pointed arches, vaulted ceilings, flying buttresses, and sculptures integrated into the structure itself. Occasionally, for very important buildings, an array of sculptures or one colossal sculpture might replace the entirety of the entrance to said building.

Tàgot Se's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in autumn and involves line dance to channel Wild Magic energies of tier 3 via throat chanting.
